Urban Wildlife Videos and Webcams

In this video from the Urban Bear Collar Camera Project, wildlife officials in Anchorage, Alaska, fitted bears with camera-collars. They caught them in the act of raiding bird feeders. Bears love birdseed!

The Cornell Lab of Ornithology in Ithaca, New York, has links to several of bird nest cams. Some are rural, but many are urban or suburban. Check these in the spring to see parents building nests, laying eggs, and rearing chicks.

Visit the blog of the Friends of Griffith Park to see shots from the camera trap in Los Angeles’s Griffith Park. If you’re lucky, you might catch a glimpse of one of the resident mountain lions featured in Wild Animal Neighbors.
